Welcome to the Rethlab

Our team studies the regulation of immunoreceptors that play an essential role for the function of the immune system. Our recent work is base on the fortunate discovery of the “immunoreceptors coupling and organization motif” (ICOM), a protein : protein interaction motif that is localized within the transmembrane domains of immunreceptors. Via their ICOM, immunoreceptors form autoinhibited dimers on resting and mutliple lateral interactions on actived lymphocytes. With this home page we are keeping you informed on the ongoing ICOM research.

We are part of the Immunology Community of the University Freiburg and hosted by the Department of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology of the University Freiburg. Our aim is to gain a deeper insight in basic immune regulatory processes and to translate this knowledge to clinical praxis.
